When life is anything but “normal”
In need a bit (more) escape right now? Here’s a great one to watch. Check out Normal People on Hulu right now, which touches on power, sex, and the desire to give and receive love.
A 12-part series, Normal People IS a story of modern young love. Adapted from Sally Rooney’s book of the same name, it’s a complicated tale that makes use of intimacy as a powerful tool of storytelling. Reviewers are using words like “besotted” and “gripping” – this show brings the small and intimate details of a love affair to light as two young lovers weave in and each out of each other worlds, asking, “why is it sometimes so hard to love each other?”
It’s real, it’s heartfelt, and it’s tender, with lots of examples of sex positivity (great authentic sexual scenes) and genuinely vulnerable characters (can you tell how much I like this show?)
If you’re in need of a little more enchantment right now (and who isn’t?), all episodes are currently streaming on Hulu – at the time of this writing, Hulu is offering a free month before billing – more than enough time to binge on a show that has stolen thousands of hearts so far.
