Penis Sensitivity: Men Being Vulnerable
Warning: Adult Content
The relationship between a man and his penis can sometimes reflects insecurity about penis size, erectile concerns, sexual performance skills and can affect a man’s sense of self worth and self-esteem.
Laura Dodsworth, a photographer with a focus on body image and self-perception, photographed 100 men and interviewed them about their penises. What did she uncover?
Dodsworth interviewed a wide variety of men – different races, straight men, gay men, trans men, rich and poor, and of course, she photographed an equally wide variety of penises. What she discovered was the surprising vulnerability of men when it comes to their penis and the deep-seated emotions that surround their feelings about their own bodies: sometimes confidence, sometimes shyness, lots of manscaping, and also feelings of shame and inadequacy.
Dodsworth’s work is a beautiful look into the more sensitive sides (and parts) of men. Read about the project and her book, Manhood: The Bare Reality, here.
